OH CRAP! :eek:TRIALS!:smack: I forgot about that, I looove those.
And flat track and speedway are very very overlooked in the US. Great stuff.
Sounds like we’d get along just fine.

Been an IndyCar fan for decades. Been to three Indy 500’s and going again this year. Also started following F1 a few years ago. Like the cars, but the races themselves have a major problem…you can predict the winner 90 per cent of the time because in the overwhelming majority of races I have seen, the car that gets to the first turn in the lead on the first lap usually wins.
Hoping they can change that. In two and a half years of watching F1, I’ve not seen more than three passes for the lead while the cars are at speed.
It almost never happens.
Good on you to go to the 500! Have fun while you’re there!
I know what you mean about F1. I was watching it intensely during the Michael Schumacher years, and it really was nothing but a parade. I tuned it out then…but what really got to me was the cars got uglier. They put the nose high, then lowered it, but put all kinds of winglets and garbage all over them. Not for me.
I’m going to try to keep up with Australian Supercars this year, because I love touring cars, and have been a big fan of Simona de Silvestro for some time. She’s in her second full year, so hopefully she’ll place better than in the past.
From what I’ve been able to gather, Brittany Force wasn’t seriously injured in her crash this past weekend, which is of course good news. It was a pretty nasty couple of bumps, but she’s a pro, so I’m sure she’ll come back.
500 is a blast. We sit in the short chute near Turn 2 in the G Stand. That stand isn’t too high, but we sit near the top, and it’s not bad at all. Saw the Dixon wreck last year…it’s the most incredible thing I have ever seen live.
One thing I wish IndyCar would do would be to run a few more ovals. Don’t mind the road courses, but ovals are the purest form of open wheel racing (at least to me)…combining the driver’s skill with the element upon which auto racing was founded: speed.
Does anyone care about Danica’s farewell “tour”? She’ll drive at Daytona, and apparently has a deal with Ed Carpenter to at the Indy 500.
Personally, I always thought she was a good driver, but not much of a racer. She was a mid-packer, but did manage to keep the car off the wall, and brought it back to the pits in one piece.
I’m more concerned with her recent sightings with Aaron Rodgers - that’s to say, not at all.
