We still use an old fashion (unprofessional looking) multipart mailer for our invoices. This requires dedicated dot matrix or impact printers.
I want to switch us over to a double sided Laser print to be folded and inserted into windowed enveloped.
I am trying to find out if anyone has real world experience with auto-inserters/automatic envelope stuffers.
Appreciate any help or advice.
Thank you in advance.
I have lots of experience with automatic inserters. What do you want to know?
What is a good reliable brand or model or supplier.
How well do they really work.
We just need to handle about 100 invoices a day.
Do they make any units that Fold & stuff in one process.
Example: On a duplex laser, we print 98 invoices in a given day.
I take 20 or 50 at a time and hit a button and when I’m done I have 20 or 50 stuffed envelopes.
My experience has been with much larger volumes. My company inserts several hundred thousand pieces per day. We use a Kern inserter for this. Other brands I’ve seen used are Pitney-Bowes, Phillipsburg and Bell and Howell. For smaller volumes, we use a Pitney-Bowes folder, which quickly and accurately folds the sheets, then we hand-insert the folded sheets into the envelopes. The envelopes are then sealed as they go through the postage meter.
