There are a few shows now that have various takes on the rebuild a junker in a week, as well as shows about custom car builders. I understood that show quality paint jobs required lots of time, handrubbing, wet sanding, etc. These shows, esp. Pimp My Ride on MTV and Overhaulin’ on TLC, completely rebuild a car, often down to the nuts and bolts, painting and reupholstering on the way. The cars always look great at the end, but will these quickie paint jobs last? How long till cracks appear? Or fading, peeling what have you?
