AUUGGHH!! Stupid Stupid Study on Aging

Think Happy, Live Longer!

I don’t know if it’s the study itself, or the stupid journalists reporting it, BUT CORRELATION DOES NOT PROVE CAUSALITY!

Anybody who is being paid to do a study, or anybody being paid to report a ‘scientific’ study, should have to explain how correlation does not prove causality, or die.

Isn’t it just the slightest bit possible that they have their claimed causality EXACTLY BACKWARDS? Is it so far-fetched to imagine that generally healthy people are going to have a more positive outlook on life?

AUUGGHH!!

Well, the article doesn’t give us enough information to determine whether this is correlation or causality, but why do you cast aspersions at the research itself? If the research actually asserted causality, the result wouldn’t be very surprising - medical studies have long demonstrated that psychological factors have significant impact on physical health. Hell, that’s the entirety of the “placebo effect.”

Unfortunately, logic and getting more grant money don’t always equate.
