Auwe!! Molokai Ranch Takes Ball and Goes Home or Island for Sale, Cheap: only $200Mil

I don’t have a dog in this fight, I don’t own a time-share or a condo. Just expressing the opinion of a long time visitor.

Just an anecdotely funny/pathetic observation. There’s a Westin Kaanapali TS owner on another board who doesn’t go to Maui anymore because it’s too crowded at airport beach now. :smack:

You being dismayed by timeshare owners (who represent less than 2% of all tourists on Maui, by the way), is really no different than the natives being dismayed when you voice your desire to retire in Hawaii. It seems everyone wants their portion of paradise but doesn’t really want to share it. And it’s not just Hawaiians.

I’ve seen bumper stickers down south that say something like, “Welcome to South Carolina! Now go on home.”

Most of the residents in Kalaupapa are staff (hospital, airport, State workers) but there are a number of original patients who still live in the colony. Many of them are those who were sent there when they were small children.

My parents live in Hawaii and I was born and raised there. A lot has changed, and much of it not for the better.

Sorry I derailed your thread ouryl.
