I’m in the soul stone now. Things like this are why I love the internet, but the fact that we had to ubsub from thanosdidnothingwrong and sub to inthesoulstone manually was a bit disappointing. This has been all the buzz for a week, you’d think the reddit data admins would have put more effort into it.
It took hours just to ban 250 thousand people.
I thought this was interesting, they livestreamed the ban and it was really slow. Downside of using a NOSQL approach I guess.

Banning doesn’t unsubscribe you from a subreddit and they wanted the post ban subscriber count to be half what it was before the ban. It didn’t work so well.
They definitely allow alts. That said, there is technically a rule that you’re not allowed to get around a ban with an alt. However, this rule is rarely enforced. I’ve only seen it happen when someone flat out admits they’re an alt for someone else. And, even then, a mod for the sub has to initiate the process–and most don’t care as long as you don’t keep up the same actions that got you banned in the first place.
Well, in this case, the action that got folks banned in the first place was simply existing, so…
