Well, I want to share with everyone my dedication to the SDMB. It is 0150 EST and I have two final exams today, one beginning in a little over 6 hours. But I felt compelled to share the average and the breakdown thus far (minus two entries):

Earthling, your statistical breakdown and analysis are quite impressive and helpful in describing the trend that many seem to sense, which is that the huge-post-count dopers tend to be older than the average.
For anyone with time to kill or other responsibilities to avoid: I’d still like to see some kind of ‘post-count-weighted’ average, so that we could come closer to pinning down the average age of the writer of the average post.
You could do this by multiplying each respondent’s age by his/her post count, add all of these up, then divide the total by the total number of posts made by all respondents. This would give us a sense of the average age of the writer of any given post.
My wild guess? A weighted average would be more like mid-30’s.
