I have tried to google this but haven’t had success due to the wrong word choice?
My question is this: In the US, if a person buys a new car, how long does he own it before it is sold or how long before it is scrapped.
Also I am curious about a person buying a used car.
I ask as the xiao-mobile is reaching voter age.
Crunching the numbers reveals that since 1949 I’ve averaged 5 1/2 years per car.
Don’t know if that’s typical.
Since 1956, we have average 4.5 years.
Usually owning two vehicles at a time for a total of 11, with all but one bought new.
According to these folks it’s 7.2 years, up from 3.2 in 1978.
And, according to the people here it’s 8.4 years in Canada.
