Award for the best response to "Cite?"

I don’t know how many of you have noticed, but all to often in the land of GQ’s a perfectly good thread is hijacked by demands for someone to cite each and every claim that they’ve made. While generally a good idea, it is a clearly overused phrase, and its a rare find indeed to see someone respond with a nice solid cite.

However, today while reading over the GQ threads I came across this thread in it Otto asks very nicely for a cite, which IMHO is merited. (4th post). Later (8th post) KB responds with some cites.

This was the best damn citing that I’ve ever seen.

So I hereby nominate KB for the Best Response to the Phrase “Cite?” Award.

Thank you KB for making GQ a better, less ignorant place for everyone.

(Please note, that this thread is in no way saying that I endorse KB’s position in that thread, nor is it to be viewed as a rant against Otto in asking for the cite, for as one of his minions I firmly believe that Otto can do no wrong.)

DAMN it all. KP… KP gets the award. Not KB, KP.

sorry.

“My post is my cite.”

Out of cite, out of mind.

Ohhhh…you were serious. I was about to quote what Diogenes quoted, but he beat me to it. Since the first two responses were going to be the same thing, if you’re talking sarcastically, we have a slam-dunk winner.

I’m going to have to go with Peggy Hill (from King of the Hill) who once said something and followed it with “my source: the internet”.
