Awesome beat boxer. Unreal.

Wow. This dude Eklips is amazing. How does he get that perfect scratching sound like that? Are there better beatboxers than this guy?

I told my wife I’m going to start beatboxing now.

Your link does not work.

Can’t access your link, but Rahzel is pretty amazing–saw him in concert once. Was pretty crazy singing and beat boxing at the same time, with no apparent digital trickery that I could tell.

That’s who I was about to mention, for that reason.

The person that the OP posted (search youtube for Eklips) was beatboxing, but had other things layered into it. Sure, sounded good, but it was more then just him and a microphone making those noises.

Try this link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0_2vmkTmf0&sns=em

There’s nothing backing him up here. Not sure what video you saw.

This was the first thing I found. Skip to around 2:30 and bypass the trainwreck of an opening.

I’ve posted this before, but here’s a guy that beat boxes while paying the flute.

I can’t believe how much I actually respect this man’s abilities. I also can’t believe he got all the way to school with his milk money very often  but that was really very impressive.

Kenny Muhammad (IMHO)

Wow - impressive. What’s interesting is that, as a musician, I can say that this fellow Kenny Muhammad is a* better drummer *than the other clips posted here. Meaning: simply how he arranges the beat/drum sounds and then locks into a metronomic groove. I could play guitar over this guy easily and have a great time.

I have no idea if beat-boxers even care about that aspect of what they do, but it was interesting for me to hear this guy and immediately think about how to “work with that track”…

Funny you should say that – he’s actually performed with the NY Philharmonic orchestra.
