Hope you feel much better very soon. Isn’t there a procedure now where they go in an break the stones apart by some manner so surgery isn’t needed? I hope, no matter how, you heal quickly and completely.

Truthfully I have decided that I would rather give birth while having a tooth abcess on me when I had a carbuncle on my butt than this . I think that would hurt less. BTW the drugs are working a bit, I’m not zapped, but I am a bit zipped. Thank God I don’t hurt ! Drugs, drugs beautiful drugs.
Sakes alive girl! Hepatitis C and now kidney stones! Someone has you on their “feel the pain” list! Be sure to take your medications, heed the doctors directions, and snuggle up to the husband.

Today is one of those days when you should thank the Goddess that you weren’t born a guy. Women’s plumbing is much more straightforward down there, and a lot shorter. You’d still be working that sucker out tomorrow if you were a guy.
When I was 10, I had a plethora of bladder problems including stones. Be glad you’re old enough to give the good drugs to, and that your doc doesn’t tell you to “Stop wimpering and take it like a man!” If I ever meet that urologist again, I’ll remind him of that phrase*. <<Evil grin>>

Man, Ayesha, you have my best wishes for a quick resolution to the remaining problems…I haven’t experienced that myself, but I get urinary tract infections and anything abnormal about peeing is painful…can’t imagine how much worse that must be. Feel better soon, okay?

Sorry to hear about your adventure in kidneyland. And it’s gotta be the worst knowing you have a couple more adventures awaiting you.
I had one (only one – a teensy weensy one) of those a while ago. It wasn’t particularly painful, just a constant dull ache that lasted long enough to get to the doctor and have it misdiagnosed as a kidney infection. But they got it right the second time.
Any reason to suspect they might give you the ultrasound treatment that blasts the little puppies to smithereens? IIRC, the technical term is lithotripsy. I don’t know when they think it’s merited, but if you know you’ve got 'em and you know they’re gonna hurt it seems like they oughta at least think about it.
Aye, aye, ayesha - damn the luck! That’s gotta suck. I know someone else who spent her birthday in the hospital for kidney stones. She was found crouched in a fetal position, taken in to the ER. Had them removed, and her kidney collapsed, had to have a stent put in for a couple weeks.
