Back to School

Having been laid off last May, at the tender age of sixty-one, I am now being sent back to school by the State of Florida. Classes begin this morning, December 1, 2001 and will continue, with a few breaks, until May 1, 2002.

I will be learning the ins and outs of database administration. Can an old dog be taught new tricks? We will see.

I hope you will wish me well.

Well!

Good luck LouisB. I’m sure you’ll do fine. And it doesn’t get much more exciting than database administration. Ohhh the nonstop fun and hilarity. Seriously, good luck.

Good luck! I’m sure you’ll do great!
But…

Why start school December 1st??? Isn’t that kind of an odd time of year?

Do you get Christmas off?

Good luck! I hope all goes well for you. Don’t be drinkin’ and partying with the other college kids, now!

Zette

Okay, the first day of school is over and I have changed from database administration to database developer. Change is due to my intention of opening my own small business. Because of this change, my next school day is December 14 and, yes, I will get Christmas off. Reason for school starting in December is because this class, and several others, are being funded by the Florida (Un)Employment people. It is being taught in a local community college by regular college instructors and semester hours will be awarded, but it is not part of a degree program.

Not nearly so bad as I thought it would be.

Thanks for the good wishes.

Good luck! I hope you still have time to post with us! Merry Christmas if I don’t see you again!
