Bad bad bad- Against my better judgement

That’s not a shopping trip. That’s a shopping experience.

I love that kinda thing.
Not easy to have that experience here in the South. Well, there’s Bass Pro-Shop. NOT!!

I’m just hoping the fake Swedish name for the frying pan wasn’t something like Bängkópffer. Don’t give angry spouses ideas.

I am now a master of the art of violating Ikea’s intended traffic-management policies, and going against the traffic, including the wrong way through checkout lanes, so that I can get into the “marketplace” section below the main store without having to run the Ikea gauntlet. There’s actually a lot of decent kitchenware and housewares there at reasonable prices, and if you know the layout of the marketplace section and are willing to barge through traffic the wrong way to get there, it’s no worse than any other big store. Possibly one reason prices are fairly reasonable is that according to Ikea’s traffic management protocols, they hope that by the time you get to the “marketplace” you’ve already bought a whole houseful of furniture, ready to assemble with the aid of no more than seven Swedish labourers equipped with seven Allen wrenches.

I can reassure you about that because the last time I was there I bought several, and have a brand new one in the cupboard that’s still wrapped. They chose to call it SKÄNKA (note the two dots over the first “A”). The fake Swedish names often have a whimsical English allusion, but I can’t figure out what they were going for with “skanka”.

The reason I bought several (I think three, one of which is already destroyed) is because sooner or later I’ll leave one on a burner that I haven’t shut off. I know I’m the last dog on earth that you might think of as being absent-minded, but it’s true!

All my pots and pans are skanky😊

Yay for Target stores. Where I live, both my local Target and Walmart on on the “Free” bus route so people with little money take the bus to Walmart - not to Target. This Walmart carries the narrowest variety of items and the lowest quality. Thank heavens for the Target.

The Bay is a wonderful department store that I compare to what Macy’s used to be like here. But I don’t shop at either store much because I don’t need much of what they are selling any more. There are some good things about growing older.

Wadda ya mean Those People???

And who taught you about throat-punching???

Those people who wait to the last minute to do anything. I get it, maybe your Christmas club account check just came.
Fine. Don’t try to boss me around because you’re flustered.
Next year have your check come earlier. Or, god forbid, make a plan and you’ll find it’s much easier.
Yeah, Bertha, I’m talking to you!

I learned to punch as a wee little girlie. I had brothers. They needed punching occasionally.

I’m also in Arkansas, and it’s amazing how one Walmart can be so different from another. Here in the Little Rock area, the Walmart near Chicot Road looks like it belongs in an episode of the Walking Dead from the outside with the parking lot full of trash and problems with crime over the years. The Walmart in Bryant is what I think of when I think of a Walmart, but the produce is usually bad. If you hit up the Walmart on Cantrell in west Little Rock it’s fantastic. It’s always clean, you don’t worry about being knifed, and the produce is actually good.

My wife went to Kroger yesterday and I asked for some Little Debbie Christmas Snack Cakes. They only had the Valentine’s Day cakes.

Hopefully, they’re for the upcoming and not the previous.

Mid-dau buys Lil Debbie for the kids lunches. She says there’s a shortage. Have no proof but she can’t find the ones she gets.

I went to Dollar General today and noticed they had but a few. The shelf was filled up with Hostess and Tastykake. No Valentine yet.

What was the nearest WallyWorld to me required driving past 5 grocery stores (4 different chains) & a Tar-jay. That one closed; new-closest WW is further away & only has 3 grocs enroute.
PoWM are actually a reason to go there becuase; hey, free entertainment.

I think the last time I was in WW was to get stuff for the Peepshow; I think my entry had to be in six weeks before Easter, so sometime in Feb
