Whatever he’s up to, I’m sure he’s doing it with panache.
(Here’s hoping he’s just been busy with 3D life)

Oh you can bet he’s doing it with panache!
His avatar is a timelapse photo he took back in June 2004, of the transit of Venus. It’s a beautiful photo.
Still no sign nor peep from panache45. Dude, I hope you are well.
@panache45
I’ve been worried about him this whole time. One of my favorites.
Funny, I was thinking of him just yesterday. You would think his partner or someone in his real life could be arsed to message us. Humph!
No, I know it wouldn’t be a priority. I’ve asked my girl-child to let you guys know if I up and die, but I’m sure it would never occur to anyone else.
My wife doesn’t know about you people. When I started, I shared a bit too much about her and then as I got more active here, it was too late. If I’m gone for more than a month without warning, assume the worst.
Yeah, I’d hope my loved ones wouldn’t dig too deep into my posts, also…on the other hand, panache never had anything to say about his partner except how wonderful he was.
You just keep posting, Procrustus.
There were some sexual details I recall about his husband, but he might have been cool with that.
Decent bet he’s gone from the Dope for good, if not gone from the Earth. I wish him only the best in any case.
When my late first wife was slowly fading from cancer, her interest in interacting with the rest of the mundanities of ordinary life collapsed to zero maybe 9 months before her condition suddenly worsened then she was gone. Under slightly different circumstances she might have lasted another 6 months, meaning she’d have been withdrawn for over a year. During the withdrawn phase she was fully mentally capable, but almost all interaction with anyone other than her very closest friends was simply too unpleasant or irrelevant to contemplate.
The possible relevance of this story to @panache45 is that he could be still quite alive but long past caring to interact with us.
Good luck and best wishes, @panache45, wherever / however you are now.
I miss him.
So do I, and I never met him.
He was a smart and interesting poster. I’m afraid I don’t see many likely explanations for going from 10-12 posts a day to zero.
I was reading a recently revived thread about Beethoven’s deafness in which @panache45 posted several times. I then realized I hadn’t seen a post from him in quite some time. A quick search led me here.
I hope he’s ok, but I agree it doesn’t look good. I wish him all the best though. I really enjoyed reading his posts over the years.
I should ask my [adult] son to do that too.
I’ve done it. Lil’wrekker will let y’all know.
When I go there’ll be a day of national mourning.
Yeah, the microbrewery industry will never recover. They’ll be mourning a lot longer than a day.
Heck, I’m already gone and you guys keep pretending I’m still posting.
And the clouds of smoke from the mourners at the wake will likely interfere with air traffic!
Are you Willie Nelson?
Willie Nelson, Tom Waits, Snoop Dogg, are three people I’d be overjoyed to party with.
