Bad to replace a 19" wiper blade with a 20" ? Rear window.

The auto parts store was having a 2-for-1 on wiper blades, so I got some for 3 of our vehicles. In my excitement I forgot to get a rear wiper blade for my son’s '94 Integra.

I also didn’t know that my daughter had just had hers replaced, so I ended up with an extra 20" and an extra 24" blade.

The Integra is supposed to get a 19" for the rear glass. Would it hurt anything to use this extra 20" blade? It doesn’t look as if it would physically interfere with anything.

Thanks in advance ~

I’ve used longer blades. Yeah, as long as they don’t interfere, there’s no problem that I know of.

I recently changed the wipers on my Subaru. The blades I got were longer than those originally fitted, so I just trimmed them to the length of the ones I replaced. Interestingly, the driver’s side blade is longer than the passenger one.

The backing of the blades is a stiff plastic, with marks indicating the length, but I measured mine against the old ones rather than cut to a particular mark.

This is fairly common on passenger cars. I’d say it’s the case on about half the models I see.
