Baghdad ER (HBO Documentary)

Did anyone watch this tonight? What did you think of it?

It’s pretty hard not be impressed by the work of all the medical personel (amazing that they manage to save the lives of 90% of the casualties who come into the 86th), but it’s also hard not to be depressed and even angered by the relentless numbers of mangled soldiers who keep coming in day after day. I don’t know how those doctors and nurses manage to keep going and doing their jobs every day. I wonder how many corpses that chaplain has to pray over every week and how he keeps his sanity.

The saddest thing is that there’s no end in sight. The most infuriating thing is that there isn’t any reason for it.
