I’m the prior category, I"m surprised no one listed Ron Howard as Private Wendell/Walter Peterson, who appeared as a 15-year-old Marine (he’d used his older brother’s birth certificate to sign up) suffering from appendicitis, and that Hawkeye eventually ratted out.
