Baldwin might show up to the WH correspondents’ dinner as Trump

And that’s it exactly. Everything has to be about him, he’s livid because Sessions ruined the glow from his teleprompter victory … crippled his Mussolini Strut bigly/big-league.

BTW - when I watch that video of Franken questioning Sessions on Russia, I am fascinated by the guy on the left side of the screen (to Sessions’ right, looks like his spawn), who’s doing something strange with his tongue and freezes when Franken asks “the” question… then darts his eyes back and forth between Franken and Sessions as the latter blathers his surrogate answer. Looks guilty as hell.

I’ve alluded to it before, but sometimes Trump sounds disturbingly like Captain Queeg in The Caine Mutiny, vowing to find out who ate the strawberries.

The difference being that Queeg wasn’t trying to distract from investigations into his actions when he came up with the Great Strawberry Caper.

Age-old trick. As soon as Baldwin sets foot in the building, he’ll be stabbed in the neck and fed to the other guests.

What they should do is both get Baldwin to show up as Trump AND get one (or all) of the big 3 networks to televise it in prime time, instead of letting C-SPAN or MSNBC do it.

THAT would yank Trump’s chain for sure.

When 45 first announced he wouldn’t do the dinner, I suggested inviting all the former presidents. But the Baldwin idea has far more humor potential. The problem is that humor would be uni-directional which might kill the dinner for the future. Better to invite 42 and 43 and let them have at it. They actually could get along. 41 and 42 have been very friendly over the years, but 42 has been in ill health lately.

I’m assuming the correspondents themselves can invite whom they please to the dinner but would they really invite or allow in someone who might piss the President off enough to make him either not attend or walk out? It seems that might go against the whole purpose of the dinner if the main guest was absent. Sure, they might have a great story for the next edition but at the cost perhaps of no more such dinners for the next 4 or 8 years. Hardly seems worth it. I really don’t think they would let Baldwin in, although of course Obama would be welcome.

As the President has already said he won’t attend, why should they care about not doing something which might get him to not attend? It makes about as much sense as not doing something to avoid the tide rising.

Didn’t realize Trump wasn’t attending. Then let the fun begin!

It’s what spurred this whole thing. It’s not mentioned in the OP, but it’s in the article.

That’s why you send in one of the lesser Baldwins first.

Off to MPSIMS.

Alec Baldwin is worthless no more!

According to Vanity Fair, he is writing a book as Donald Trump, titled You Can’t Spell America Without Me: The Really Tremendous Inside Story of My Fantastic First Year as President Donald J. Trump, scheduled for release in November, one year after Election Day. Co-writing the book is Kurt Andersen, who was one of the people at Spy Magazine that had such fun getting under Trump’s skin.

Apparently, it’s already been done but that’s the only reference I could find for it.
