When I lived in Baltimore (attending law school) from 1989-92, there were plans for a “Harborwalk” – a broad walkway, paved in red brick, extending all around the shore of Baltimore Harbor. When I left, only the Inner Harbor portion had been completed. Was the rest ever built? Can you now walk, along the waterfront, all the way from the Inner Harbor to Fell’s Point?
The big red walkway still ends at the aquarium.
Yeah, but it’s still pretty cool down there. Overpriced and touristy, but nice and safe for visitors.
Do the stupid bars still close at 12? When I went to Otakon with friends, it was infuriating. And that was the time in 2001 when the city was, you know, exploding and stuff. Manhole covers booming into the air, that sort of thing. The rain also gave my friend hives.
I didn’t really walk away with a good impression of the city.
