Here’s the situation: My mom and uncle came up to visit a couple of weeks ago, and they left some food in my fridge. No problem, I’ll never complain about getting food, and they didn’t leave any pans or bowls or anything I’d need to return. Among the food they left, were two bananas. Now, I don’t eat bananas much, and they’ve gotten completely black by now, of course. So naturally, I’m thinking banana bread. The only problem is, I don’t have a recipe for banana bread. I tried searching the Internet, but I got a lot of pages that looked like they were missing ingredients (describing adding things to the “liquid mixture”, when the only mixture thus far consisted of brown sugar, sugar, butter, and a single egg), or were for other things, like cookies, or called for ingredients I don’t have, and wouldn’t use for anything else (buttermilk, molasses, shortening, etc.). Besides, I don’t know these people… I’m not going to trust a recipe to a total stranger! So, naturally, I thought of this place. Anyone care to share any yummy recipes for banana bread?
PS: Yes, I know that I misspelled the subject line…
My sister makes banana bread all the time, but unfortunately, I do not have her recipe.
Try this: Breads, there are several banana and banana/something recipes listed. I’m not checking them all out, there are 49 “Banana” alone, plus the “Banana/something”.
My favorite Fanny Farmer recipe for banana bread calls for 3 bananas. Hmm.
Suggestion: have you got some Bisquick or pancake mix? Mash up the nanners and mix them in with one of the back-of-the-box recipes, make “banana Bisquick coffee cake” or “nanna pancakes”.
Do you need me to tell you to take the peels off first?
