from 8th paragraph:
“He once had a fist-fight with Squire after a concert, because they had violently disagreed about who had played badly.”
Despite it backing what I said, unfortunately it’s not the exact cite I was looking for (which did mention early '72, just before he parted ways with Yes).
Still looking for the Chris Squire video mentioning Wakeman’s try-out fiasco. IIRC he was alone on a stage relating old times to an audience.

I’m reading “Trouble Boys - The True Story of The Replacements” right now.
Page 189 describes the series of shows they did in Minneapolis to celebrate the release of “Tim” their Sire records debut.
There were a couple of bustups between Paul and Bob on stage. It’s a very big deal/controversy because Bob was just out of rehab and there were bottles of champagne being popped, one by Paul at Bobs head! He also might have said: “If you don’t want to take a drink get off my stage!” But it’s a matter of debate. Bob drank champagne that night, fell off the wagon on the subsequent tour and was fired 10 months later.
This is only the tip of the iceberg of the Mats story.
Dave Mustaine was kicked out Metallica because, in the words of James Hetfield: “There are two types of drunks – silly drunks, and violent drunks. And the two don’t mix.”
