Speaking of woodwinds, where would the E Street Band have been without Clarence Clemons?
Ok, I grant that because Stevie was exceptional, but Double Trouble OTOH was a perfect backing band for him.
They also had Aynsley Dunbar for a while. If he can play with Zappa, he can play with anybody.
IMHO, Dick Dale had more musical talent than all the Deltones combined.
I have no idea whether or not he was one of Zappa’s most technically accomplished drummers, although he sounds like it to me, but he’s the one I’ve always enjoyed the most.
Five, Six and Seven are Tony Banks’ symphonic albums. All are wonderful.
