Similar is case of the title name of Prophet Yaqub; ‘Israel’ (AS), how the cunning Jews, the followers of Judaism, the historically most hostile nation towards Islam and Muslims could name their illegitimately occupied antiIslamic country as Israel???

Well, now I’m curious. In terms of total death-toll, who has killed the most Muslims:

1. Jews
2. Other Muslims
3. Some other group.
   I’m inclined to guess (2).

I see it as somewhat akin to spray-painting “John loves Mary” on the boulders next to the freeway, out in the middle of the desert somewhere. It’s a spurious attempt at immortalizing the message, knowing that people will see it.

They fail to realize that, yes, we see it, but we do not appreciate it, and we do not internalize the message they might want. Instead of, “Oh, how nice, John loves Mary; I hope they are happy together forever,” we think…ah…something less kind.

Is there any way we can turn this into a metadebate on the nature of witnessing?

I mean, I know it’s been done before, but I’m fascinated by the nature and motivations of the drive-by witness. I see it all over the intertubes, on MBs and Facebook and comment threads: someone blows in with a screed about their faith/beliefs, and then fucks off.

The image I get is someone posting, feeling righteous, and dusting his hands exclaiming “Welp, my work here is done! Next!”

That might not be right, but if it is, I don’t really understand the thought processes that go into it. I know I’m deeply bigoted, but I impute plain stupidity and no small measure of self-absorption. But a large part of me dislikes that characterization based on so little evidence.

Thoughts? What motivates someone to do this?

It’s the same principle as email spam for Viagra or Jehovah Witnesses going door to door; throw out your message often enough and eventually you’ll get a taker.

Eh, Muslims believe Adam was the first Muslim, as was Noah, and Abraham, and Moses, and Jesus. Not that these earlier prophets read the Koran or anything, but they don’t think Mohammed established Islam, just that he perfected it.

I thought it was “no true Scotsman…”, not “no true Muslim”. But let’s not quibble.

I know I’m gonna be sorry I asked, but what does the (AS) mean that is sprinkled throughout the OP’s very interesting demonstration of something or other about Jews?
