"Banned" threads and Schadensfreude

There are a few people whose banning I am looking forward to, and I shall feel not shame but satisfaction at their removal.

A past thread on banning did allow me to make a wisecrack which inspired the Winkelriedism quoted in my rarely-used signature line.

its not misfortune we are takeing joy in, misfortune is bad luck… luck doesn’t get people banned… being a jerk does.

such is human nature.

Uke, I clicked that link and got denied permission to access it.

That must be one heinous cole slaw.

Most of the people who get banned have been nothing grievous pains in the ass. The thread about their booting is often the highlight of their short membership.

I’d like the record to show that although I started the WSLer thread, all I was doing was inquiring as to what caused the banning. I should have specified that my reason was twofold:

  1. Since I don’t frequent GD or GQ, where many bannings originate, this was one of the first bannings where I had seen the individual on many occasions.

  2. I had seen him receive many warnings and didn’t know what the specific event was that finally dropped the hammer.

Now, I’ll admit that he bugged me on occasion, but so have many people. I wasn’t trying to take delight in his banning, I was genuinely curious as to what caused it.

Was december banned?

I have always wondered how many emails per day the mods/admins get about various banning/unbanning/complaints/problem issues.

Well, that’s why they get the big bucks.

(Which Arnold would give up for a walk on the beach with me, apparantly.)
