Question: if you have users using an ISP (or working at a large company) with a proxy server or NAT firewall, aren’t all users with that service going to have the same IP? So if a user got banned, then created a new ID, you wouldn’t really be able to tell if it was that user or a completely new one, right?

Actually, mainly I’m just curious as to what your “long established names” are. I have a some sort of suspicion that it’s not a poster I like and respect much, because I like to think of myself as a good judge of character on the boards. However, my faith in that would be shattered if it turned out that you also posted under the name coldfire or something.
