I am not trying to get banned. Since I am simple, I am using Sam’s interface and have not yet seen this wonderful creation. But let’s face it — no unsolicited advice, googly eyes, annoying appearances, helpful comments (It looks like your writing a letter! Can I help? I could sing “99 bottles of beer on the wall” as you write!)…
It’s good, sure. But it’s not Microsoft good.
I keep odd hours as well. I’ve not seen the board go down or be anything but perfectly on the dot, when I punch it up.
@BigT, you might be having a connection problem.
I had no problems with any other site. And, like I said, I’m not the only poster who mentioned it. Someone said they almost went to the Giraffe Boards to check.
Plus, well, it did connect. The page I got back was just blank. It had the HTML skeleton of the page, but no actual content.
Intentionally using Discobot to annoy someone else on the SDMB is jerkish behavior, and you can be moderated for it.
As for the new site, I personally wouldn’t say it’s running like a Swiss timepiece, but it’s definitely a lot better than the old site. We’ve had a few server farts, but they have been few and far between. They are rare enough that many users haven’t encountered any issues like that here on the new site. The developers are still tweaking things behind the scenes, so that might be responsible for some of the hiccups.
And for those of you who miss Clippy, I believe he’s available as an add-on if you are using Microsoft Teams. Enjoy!

I agree with BigT that this looks like a strawman. I’m not a fan of the bot, but I don’t have any major complaints about the rest of the changes and I agree that it is running very smoothly.
Full disclosure: in my case it may be fundamentally a beef with a certain aspect of Doper culture. Going back to the 1990s I have always gotten irritated when a thread starts getting spammed up with a bunch of puns. I just don’t like scrolling through all that nonsense to read something interesting, and it feels the same with this bot.

Other than once or twice when I was brand new, and in this thread, I haven’t seen discobot at all. Is this a problem that needs to be solved?
yes he is! I am outraged. and I have the emoji to prove it! 
I’ve been known to exasperate and kill bots.
I got a new ‘sooper seekrit’ phone. Since it’s secret I have had to activate it in private.
I was doing it good when all of a sudden I looked on the screen and a little robot icon was laying on his back with a door open in his tummy.
I had to open a live text chat to get sorted.
The bot is still dead, but my secret phone is up and running.
I have to live with the shame. I killed another robot.
