We don’t usually announce the banning of guests who are socks or previously banned persons trying to sneak back in, since we don’t want to give them publicity. And we have no real means of getting them to stop bothering us and go away. Our only tool is our policy that when we do ban such creatures, we make all their posts disappear. We hope that the knowledge that their sneak-in efforts will not last, will discourage them from continued attempts.
Sadly, enforcement of this policy sometimes causes disruption of a thread, when a post vanishes. And, if the sock was the one starting a thread, then the entire thread disappears. This is sometimes unfortunate, because even total jerks are capable of sometimes starting interesting threads.
Thus, a thread has now disappeared that was about “Some pharmacists still refuse to dispense Emergency Contraception” If some real member or guest, a normal human being and not a formerly banned individual, would like to restart the discussion in Great Debates, that’s fine. But yesterday’s discussion is gone.
We’re sorry about that, but don’t blame us, blame the jerk who started such a thread knowing what would happen when he was detected. It’s kind of like, if the police have corned a gang of robbers, don’t blame the police for the traffic tie-up, blame the felon.
We’d prefer not to have discussion about this individual, because (1) he can’t respond, being banned, and so it wouldn’t be fair; and (2) trolls thrive on attention, and we don’t want to give them any if we can avoid it. If you have a pressing need for more information, please email a moderator.
