Okay, so my Dad was cleaning out our cottage, getting rid of all the junk when he comes across my stash of Barbie’s. I’m talking 10-12 Barbies, a few Ken’s and TONS of clothes. Looking at the dates on the tushes, they are dated late 60’s, early 70’s. There are also 2 Barbie cases which are in pretty good shape. Nothing some Fantastic couldn’t fix.
Are these things worth anything? They are all in good condition, not mint, but good. They all have their arms and legs.
Where could I find out if they are worth anything?
Not necessarily; if they’re relatively rare and in good condition, Lady Venom could probably get a good price for 'em. The big question is whether she’d get more selling them as one big batch auction, or several dozen individual auctions.
(No, I don’t collect Barbies, I’m just extrapolating from my experience as a Transformers collector. I did hack up a Barbie once as part of a [failed] “kitbash” project, though…)
I collect barbie dolls, but not the older ones. Some of the best places you could look for prices are at doll shows, ebay and barbir bazzar magazine.
The boxes are always nice, but just because you don’t have the box doesn’t mean they’re worthless. I have seen a lot of old torn up Midge dolls for $80.00 and up.
