Well, the Tigers are doing their best to make sure St. Louis doesn’t keep winning. Late game last night as the Tigers beat the Cardinals 8-7 because of a Gary Sheffield double.
The D-backs seriously need the month of June to end. Hopefully, this month wa just growing pains for a younger team and the result of better scouting by opposing teams.
Is Ben Sheets serious about not even being to consider an offer from the Brewers? Does he think he is A-rod?
Who on earth is going to win the AL Central? The Indians have just stunk recently. The Twins are coming on strong. Tigers seem to show signs of life. Even the Royals are starting to play well. I just don’t believe the White Sox will continue to play as well as they have. This could be one of those divisions where the winner ends up barely over .500 like the NL West was a couple years ago.
So Shawn Chacon just physically attacked his boss’ boss, Astros GM Ed Wade. I actually don’t have anything to say about it, flabbergasted as I am, but someone had to mention it.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, my boss just asked me to attend a meeting; I need to go kick her in the shins.
Good grief.
Perhaps Chacon and Latrell Sprewell can be on a reality show together.
The Indians are done. Stick a fork in them. The Central comes down to the Tigers and White Sox. I’d say about 92 games is going to win the Central this year.

Or, you know…this year.
If the Rockies and Padres continue to suck as much as they do, I think the NL West winner will be comfortably above .500. The Giants aren’t much better.
The Rockies and Padres have sucked all year, we’re three games away frm the halfway mark, and your first-place team is a single game over .500. I’m not sure where you’re getting your confidence from, but go with the power of positive thinking, my friend!
There, there you two. Things will be fine.
Bah! MLB-leading strikeout and ERA ace Edinson Volquez had to pick today to finally have a bad outing! 5-0 in the 3rd!
I suppose it has to happen eventually, but…crap, I really wanted to take two of three from the Jays…
I was thinking that the Giants, Padres, and Rockies will start to do the things that teams who are out of it by the All Star Break do. They’ll trade away some players, let injuries to key players take a long time to heal, and play some youngsters. Thus, they’ll start losing even more games. There is still a decent amount of division play left, so I think the Dodgers and D-backs will both end up comfortably above .500
The D-Backs are a good team. I think they’re just in a slide and will turn it around.
But hopefully not until the Dodgers overtake them by at least 5 games. The post-All Star collapse of the Dodgers isn’t nearly as painful if we aren’t leading by a bunch.
He just didn’t have his command. His fastball was missing, he was falling behind, and then getting killed when he had to come down the pipe.
It was very, very humid in Toronto; maybe he was just having trouble with his grip on the fastball, I dunno. He looked fine mechanically, but his pitches were missing the catcher’s target by a foot.
The D-backs seriously need June to end. Micah Owings left with a possible injury and then they managed to lose the game to the Marlins in front of 12 fans. There were more players in the dugout than fans in the stands. Pathetic, Miami.
How big can Fielder get and still play ball.? Man he is getting huge.
Tigers and White Sox have to shake Minnesota to win the Central. They are playing well . I do not see 90 games needed. There is too much in division series spitting. Tigers have cleaned up on inter league to get back in but no one seems to make headway in the division.
Oooooookay. I mean, we Dodger fans certainly make fun of the team for a lack of offense, but tonight really takes the cake.
We were no hit by the Angels – and we WON! At least we’re entertaining even in our futility!
Pettitte out-dueled Santana in a tight game yesterday. Mo went 1-2-3 to get his 22nd (I think) save. I keep being amazed by him. At his age, to be this consistently dominant is truly an amazing feat. Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle, Berra, Ford, Riviera. He’s joined the Pantheon.
