May I suggest doing a preliminary search of the last name before posting? I’ve repeated some posts myself, so I know how easy it is to forget who posted what last week.
Revere
Dutch and Sugar Ray
Leonard
Cleon and Indiana
Jones
Claude (Lefty) and Tennessee
Actually, on further thought, “Cleon” would have gone better with “Van”
Williams
Buck and Dennis
Not a bad idea. I’ve done it a few times; it’s been pretty active.
Weaver (?) I think there’s a Dennis Weaver. An actor, maybe? If I’m wrong I apologize. As I’ve said a lot of these “other people” are not familiar to me at all, so when a name sounds vaguely reminiscent of something I jump on it.
And if I’m wrong you can ignore the following:
Downtown Ollie and Georgia
Brown (didn’t he have a good arm?)
Van Lingle and Ray (sorry, I had to!)
You are correct; Dennis weaver was Sam McCloud on McCloud
Okay! Not a show I thought I was familiar with, but it must have gotten in the brain somehow! Thanks.
yes, Downtown Ollie Brown was known for his arm. Not a terrible hitter, but not good enough to have a long career as a regular.
Must be Mungo! Though “Ray Mungo” is not familiar, can’t imagine there were two “Van Lingles” in MLB.
