If I have company over, it is closed.
Any other time the bathroom door is open. Because there is no venilation system in the bathroom, any running hot water creates steam and condensation and humidity that’s icky.
Leaving the door open also leaves me open to cat attacks–the cat likes to jump in the shower or the bathtub, and likes to play with the big white porcelin litterbox.
