Battle of Chancellorsville: 150th Anniversary

Hooker’s injury occurred shortly after 9 a.m., at a point in the battle when the Confederate attack was finding it increasingly difficult to advance from the west (Jackson’s flank attack). In his dazed condition, Hooker apparently failed to remember that he had two of his best corps, Reynolds’ and Meade’s, a short distance away in perfect position to flank Jackson’s (now Jeb Stuart’s) troops. Those many thousands never got into the fight.

Gotcha… 9 a.m. on May 3 to be clear (for others). The day after Jackson’s flank attack.

This was a huge turn in Lee’s favor as well. Despite being heavily outnumbered, he never faced many of Hooker’s soldiers and faced the rest of even terms.
