I see my OP was lost. That was some swift Karmic justice from my being a smart-ass in the Cartoon music thread. 
My wife and I went on vacation a few weeks ago, and when we got back, Sarah, from the Sarah and Vinny morning show on Alice, was having listeners vote for a new co-host. No mention was made of what happened to Vinny. So, does anyone know what happened? I assume he was fired, but was there some scandal behind it?
He was fired, but they won’t say why. I’m sure there are tons of rumors somewhere, but I haven’t heard any. Chutie (Shooty???) disappeared in the last couple of weeks as well.
It’s becoming the all Hooman, all the time show, and that’s just too scary to contemplate.
A few months ago he up and disappeared for a week with nary a word. They were actually talking about it on the show that first day, hoping he was all right.
He then came back and announced a leave of absence a couple of weeks later for up to eight weeks or something like. In the meantime he apparently broke up with his girlfriend and sold the house he had build up in Marin (or thereabouts).
He then returned from his leave of absence a bit early (on April 1, they tried to do a joke that he was returning for the day before leaving to study Buddhism in India). A couple of weeks later he was gone again, with no warning, and a message from station management that he would not be returning.
I’ve heard nothing specific on what was wrong, but I’ve seen it hinted in a couple of places that it was a substance abuse issue. I know of no specific evidence, but it does seem to fit the behavior.
I haven’t listened in a few weeks, so I don’t know what may have happened to Chutie (Shoody, shiudeei, whatever).
The few times I’ve listened in the last month or so, I haven’t much cared for the co-hosts. Most of them seem to be more like Sarah than filling the Vinnie role. Scott Capuro seems to be the best fit, but he doesn’t seem the most stable for a daily 4am wake-up call, and he has other commitments.
