BCCode: 50 on WinXP

Okay…so it’s been a long time since I posted at all, but I’m having problems with my computer, and I’ve searched and scoured the Internet, and I can’t come up with anything.

So…every time I start up my computer I get that annoying little box that says Windows has recovered from a serious error. I click on the details (or whatever it’s really called), and it reveals to me that what I have is a BCCode: 50.

My question is this. What does BCCode: 50 mean? How do I fix it? Is it fixable? Here are the specs on my machine:

Windows XP Professional Edition
FIC AD11 Motherboard
AMD Athlon 1700+ processor
512 MB DDRAM
Radeon 7500 Video Card
Linksys EtherFast 10/100 Ethernet Card
Proimise Ultra66 IDE controller card
Quantum 13 GB Hard Drive
Western Digital 40 GB Hard Drive
Matshita DVD ROM
TDK CD-R
Internal ZIP 250

Let me know if I missed anything, and please…if anybody knows anything about this…tell me. Thank you all very much in advance for your time.

A quick check of Microsoft’s website shows this. It would seem you upgraded your computer from ME (or at least some previous operating system), and your device drivers aren’t all compatible with Windows XP. You can try going to WindowsUpdate and seeing what they have for a possible quick fix, but if you keep getting the error, you’ll have to go through and manuall update the drivers. There are instructions on the first link I gave you. Good luck!

Thanks for the link. I guess my look through Microsoft’s website wasn’t as thorough as it could have been. Maybe I misspelled something when I searched them. I’ll check out that link anyhow. Thanks again!
