You probably didn’t mean it this way at all, but did you happen to read Boojums All the Way Through? One of the funniest damn things I ever read. But then I’m a total quarkhead.
That’s too fresh. (I.e., the phrase was used in the theme song to “Fresh Prince of Bel Air”.)
I suggest ‘holy" to replace "awesome’: That’s just holy!
and “air conditioned” top replace “cool”: Those shoes are air conditioned!
Maybe they won’t be all catchphrases exactly, but I have strong visions (auditions?) of the following slang coming into use next year:
jihadi - any asshole or person with an anger management problem. “Man my new boss is a total jihadi.”
camp - taken from MMORPG’s - to hold a grudge against/torture. “I forgot my wife’s birthday and she was *camping * me for weeks.”
**premillenial ** - any out of date technology, anything obsolete or out of fashion. "Did you see that shirt he shirt he was wearing? So premillenial. "
fundosphere - the set of all fundamentalists/religious zealots worldwide.
empty clip - anyone with attitude who can’t back it up. A loser.
Yah griefing works pretty well too - you’re right. It works better because you don’t have to be a gamer to figure out what it means.
I think I’m going to contest your definition of camping. In eq anyway camping means (most of the time) to camp a mob (target). To hunt something in a fixed location. Basically to kill then wait for the mob to reappear and kill it again. Rinse and repeat. To camp a corpse means to do that with a player in pvp (player vs. player). Which is a type of griefing, but there are other forms of griefing too. Griefing just means any activity designed to make gameplay unpleasant for someone else.
