I agree completely. Even if he isn’t, it makes him look like a jerk no matter what happens. The entire thing is just balls deep awkward especially the final conclusion where life time customers are asked if they prefer a sweet grandmother’s specialty and livelihood or a millionaire world class culinary trained chef’s version. The worst part is it’s a surprise, the person who is supposed to ‘beat’ Bobby Flay never asked to do it. It’s like that Makeover show where some friends decide a woman looks like shit and needs help from designers and makeup artists on national tv. The lady thought she looked fine, or was at least content.
Surprise? Do you think the contestants do not know they are going to be on the show? They are coming to challenge Bobby. I think you guys have the concept of the show backwards. These chefs aren’t kidnapped and pushed out on stage without knowing why they are there.
I believe they are referring to Throwdown, not Beat Bobby Flay.
That could be. The show I’m referring to I saw about 10 years ago.
That would be Throwdown. They’d punk the chef that was getting challenged by telling them the Food Network was doing a show on “Midwest Chili Parlors” or some such to explain the cameras and stuff. Then Bobby would waltz in and issue his challenge.
The redeeming factor of that show was that Bobby got his ass kicked more often than not.
Oh ok. I have never watched that one.
