“The End”, the last (if you don’t count “Her Majesty”) song on Abbey Road, is the one with Ringo’s drum solo, then the three guitars in succession, but also blending together.
Now, I always forget, and I don’t trust my musicology skills to discern, the order in which they soloed. Is it Lennon-McCartney-Harrison, or Harrison-McCartney-Lennon? Or is McCartney first? I’m almost sure the last solo is not his. Anyone?
** Mudshark ** is right, the liner notes of “The Beatles Anthology” also say that in " The End " Paul, George and John, in that order, play two bars each (about 4 seconds) 3 times over.
To my untrained ear, Paul and George’s sections blend into each other rather smoothly, but John’s soloing is more distinct (and a lot rougher and snarlier).
