Isn’t St. Basil’s in Red Square mostly brick? Amazing cathedral, simply amazing.
The National Building Museum in Washington DC is very impressive. It was originally build as the Pension Building, to house the people administering federal pensions.
St. Louis has a lot of stylish brick homes and apartments. I found a page with an okay selection of pictures.
And the main page, although many of the pix are too contrasty.
That’s definitely going in there. Very large picture that lets you see the brickwork.
The interior is equally if not more impressive.
British TV presenter James May’s house built entirely out of actual (toy) lego bricks was pretty cool.
Fucking SDMB pedants strike again.
Brick is brick. There are different types of brick.
Stone is stone. There are different types of stone.
Stone is NOT brick. Your responses are inappropriate.
Read the OP. Ice blocks, legos and glass bricks aren’t “bricks” either. He’s looking for background images for a presentation, images that tell a story or set a tone. Who exactly are you trying to help here?
I say again. fucking SDMB pedants.
You just don’t get it. Twice you say read the OP. I did. Brick(s) is mentioned NINE times, stone, ZERO.
Brick is not just the clay bricks are made from, it’s also a form and a style, so as the OPer requested, “It doesn’t have to be a particular kind of brick- photos I’ve downloaded so far include glass bricks, ice bricks, Legos, blue glazed bricks, and of course red bricks.”
Give it up…
Yes, all of those things are bricks, in that they are moulded into shape, as I pointed out in my previous post. The OP specifically said bricks because they are a specific thing.
Your response is indeed inappropriate.
The Yellow Brick Road?
