I’m not a Beck fan, but I couldn’t help but notice he was playing an odd looking guitar on SNL last night.
Any idea what kind it is?

It looked like some sort of Danelectro, if that helps any.
Found it. It’s a Danelectro 1448 Silvertone.
Thanks.
The Silvertone name probably indicates that it was sold throught Sears & Roebuck, who sold guitars under the Silvertone name, including some that were manufactured by Danelectro. The interesting thing about the Dan-os is that the tops were basically formica and the sides some other un-artfully constructed low-grade wood product. And that the pickup covers were originally made from lipstick tubes.
I saw him too, and I immediately thought “Danelectro”. Once you’ve seen one, it’s easy to identify others. There’s a distinctive “blockiness” to the shape of the body.
The headstock looks almost like it was meant to be a Gibson style (3 over 3 tuners) and someone changed their mind at the last minute.
You saw that too! I had forgotten until you mentioned that. I just knew it looked lopsided in some way…
