^^^I hear you, girl. What gets me about my washer is the panel to pick load size used to be small, medium, large, and my fave; extra large! Now I have to choose the type of clothes. The choices are bulky, bedding, jeans or towels, light weight items, delicate. And amazingly, ‘one item’. Who in their right mind washes one item at a time? I tried it once, it took just as long as a whole load. Stoopid!
I ain’t got time to sit around trying to figure out and decide which ‘type’ of clothes I’m washing. I won’t even get into the panel for fabric ‘type’. These are not decisions I want to have to make in the freakin’ laundry room. Too much for my little brain, some days. Water temperature stays on cold/cold. They have to say it twice so you really understand, I guess. It’s the only button I’m really sure of.
ETA the manual that came with the machine is being used as a door stop. It’s over an inch thick.
I have located a family-owned-operated laundry service not too far from my house. I give them my laundry, they weigh it, tell me how much it will cost and I return the next day, pay them and take it home, all separated, folded and packed in shrink wrapped bags. I live within their service area; for a slight additional fee, they will pick up and deliver but I haven’t yet taken advantage of that service. They offer dry cleaning service and they will do minor repairs—replace buttons, etc. They are as busy as they want to be; if they had a few more family members, they would probably own they city.
I (guy) used to do all the laundry in a previous relationship. Currently I work full time and my wife does not work outside the home. The most recent washer and dryer we bought are so complicated compared to the ones I used back in the day. So I have some sympathy for someone who “doesn’t know how to do laundry.” I’d like “ wash these clothes” and “dry these clothes” buttons.
