Bed-and-breakfast in the Pacific Northwest

Any recommendations for a weekend stay? Somewhere in Oregon or north northern California. Washington would be okay too. Ideally with a view of the coast.

I need to get out of here.

How about up a tree in Oregon? (I haven’t been but friends of mine honeymooned there and loved it).

Don’t know if it’s north enough for you, but Big Sur, CA is fantastic. Check out Gearhart, OR, too. And Orcas Islands in WA are dreamy. Sorry, don’t have specific places in mind right off the top of my head, but those are all wonderful, charming spots that likely have tons of B&Bs.

Dutch Treat in Bellingham WAshington is lovely, if not exactly coastal.

If you’re willing to risk the hassles of a working light in the same vicinity, the Heceta Head Lighthouse seems like it would be ideal.
B&B’s are one of the ways that various lighthouse associations have found to fund preserving old lighthouse structures, so there may be others you would find more convenient to other places you’d care to visit, too.

Here’s one I stumbled upon, some 30+ years ago, on the southern Oregon coast (Highway 1):

Itty-bitty little town at the mouth of the Rogue River. Several operations there that run flat-boat day-trip excursions up the river. Up the river, there are some little B&B places on the river that are ONLY accessible by boat – no roads in the woods up there. (Of course, those B&B’s are run by the same people that run the flat-boat excursions.)

You can do the one day boat excursion (stop at the B&B for lunch then head back down), or you can stay overnight at the B&B (dinner and breakfast too).

I second this. Specifically, Paradise Lodge, which is pure awesome. I’ve never stayed in one of their cabins, but have stopped several times while rafting down the river for lunch or to stock up on supplies.

The Kalaloch Lodge in Washington on the coast of the Olympic Peninsula is a great little oceanside lodge that has detached bungalows on top of a cliff overlooking the beach or rooms in the lodge itself. The restaurant has wonderful food and drink, much of it sourced locally. The whole area has beautiful hikes and views.

Seconding everything said about Kalaloch lodge. More than enough beach, forest, and mountains on the west side of Olympic National Park to keep you busy for a few days. The area is also very quiet at night, which may be a plus or minus for you.

A bit further north, Bird Rock Hotel in Friday Harbor, on San Juan Island was also very nice. Instead of mountains and giant trees, you get lots of whales and kayaking. A bit more going on after dark as well.
