Been working ten days straight. Last day was not one I can chalk up as 'routine'.

Holy [insert unsavoury word ending in ‘ing’] crap. Today was so far beyond routine.

Last day of a ten-day working stretch. I am having a well deserved drink (or several).

I’m there with you - even though I only worked 5. I have caught (or been caught at) 6 errors this week. Not all cost the company money, but jeez…

Raises toast(s) to Lob.

If I was up for 240 hours, I think I’d be having psychotic epsidoes about now.

I presume you were working 8-10 hour days?

i once worked every day for three months - mostly ten hour shifts

boy was i tired by the end of it :frowning:

My job has involved mandatory overtime many times. My longest stretch was from the Tuesday after Labor Day to the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Unfortunatly for me, my divorce from my ex occured a few months after that and the judge used my income including all the OT to set my child support. The union contract I work under now included limits on the amount of overtime, no more than 2 weekends in a row or 240 hours in a rolling 3 month period.

IANAL - but I think you can have a judge look at your new work status and maybe get it lowered…

So, Lobsang, are you going to share what was beyond routine? (Or was it just the amount of time…?)

My life stopped being routine months ago. I’m lov’in it.

I could write a soap opera with what was beyond routine.

I quit my last job because I had worked 18 months without a day off. I had given notice once, and agreed to stay under the condition I got one day off a week.

I worked anywhere from 55-70 hours a week, and was not paid overtime.

My boss is still badmouthing me to anyone who will listen (no one) because I didn’t give notice when I quit. I worked in feral cat trap-neuter-release. My boss had also set up a private shelter at his home, where I was responsible for all animal care. His girlfriend also set up a small shelter at her home, where I was responsible for all animal care.

I went to my bosses house one afternoon after a day of cleaning cages, checking traps, taking cats to the vet, etc, when my boss started getting on my case about not responding to all the requests for trapping we had coming in. I asked him what he wanted me to not do, as I was working from 7am to 9 pm at least 5 days a week.

His response? “Maybe you need to get up earlier.”

Yeah, but at least now, you can still look back on the fruits of your labor.

Hmmmm…I’m in day 9 (12 hour days) of my shift. Only 26 days more to go!
