Beer before liquour....?

how did the rhyme go? and any truth to it?

Liquor before beer, never fear.
Beer before liquor, never sicker.

I can’t speak to its truth one way or the other.

This legitimate news article pretty much sums up my thoughts on the subject.

Hehehe. The Onion, a distorting mirror which reflects humanity more accurately than reality.

I’d always heard it as “Beer and wine is fine, wine and beer is queer”, but either way my theory is that anyone who knocks back a load of wine and then moves onto beer is most likely on a bender, whereas having a few beers and then some wine is what you might do at a dinner party or other reasonably restrained social event.
