bees

bees are dieing you should care more than you do’

bees are important all we eat depends on them. in the end the poison for profit we dispell onto the earth is killing us all

Um, what?

Welcome to the Straight Dope Message Board, bigstinger! We hope you pull up a chair and stay a while. Don’t worry about us, we grow on you after a bit.

When starting a thread here about one of either Uncle Cecil’s columns or one of the columns from his worthy minions, the Straight Dope Advisory Board, it is helpful to paste a link to the column into your first post, so eveyone knows which column you are discussing. That can be done by copying and pasting the URL from your browser’s address field, leaving a space on either side. In this case, I presume you are talking about Why are the bees disappearing?

When the Honey Bees die, our childrens, children will pass on to a slow death from starvation. You wrote an article as if you think you are the guru of the loss of spieces. Our Earth is losing creature’s daily that will never come back. While we speak nonchalantly about it. How shamefully foolish we are. The future will be bleak for us as well as all it’s creature’s if we act as you do because Wikapedia listed you as a creditable source.

thanks DSYoungEsq You are right I am commenting on Why are bees disappearing

Actually, we are a credible source. You might want to use a spellchecker. People take your message more seriously if you can present it in an intelligible way. Punctuation, spelling–while you don’t need them to get your message across, it always helps.

I think that your credible source talk is misleading. I am not a perfect typist nor am I an English Major. I still stand by that which I believe to be true. The terrible truth stands before us. We are killing our planet and the lovely creature’s on it. In the end we will be wallowing in our own dispair and having Death knock on our door while some intelligent idiot tells us not to worry. It’s no big deal the creatures of the earth are being killed off they will say.
They will also tell us to spell it just so and then we will sound credible.

On CSI, Sara Sidle said that she had read that if all the world’s bees were to die, humanity would follow in four years. Gil Grissom shook his head and looked at her disappointedly, as if he wished she would not get her information from the internet, and told her that that notion was somewhat exaggerated.

And Gil Grissom is known to be an expert on insects!

I hope this settles your mind about bees.

I hope the people of knowledge and profit will learn some common sense. Save us! Save us! They will scream, As our lovely Earth burns from all our thought of profit and knowledge. We should not dispell the truth. Our Earth is changing for the worse, enviromentally, because of what we have done. The truth is wisdom.
Goodnight.

some awesome quotes

Oh sure. I feel great. Somewhat exaggerated you say. I guess that means it will take more than four years. What? Maybe it will take 18 yrs., 20yrs., how many? My lifetime? Maybe the next generation? Ahh!! Hell with the next generation let them worry about that. TV Drama(CSI) is fiction. In real life people do starve to death. Many of those deaths are caused because people don’t see the real truth. The loss of an earthly being affects many it may take time to see the issue but it will be seen.

Cool I needed a chill pill ,thanks

Why? I prefer to ignore a problem entill it goes away!

This is the same expert on insects who in a previous season referred to a dead honeybee worker as “him”.

bigstinger, can you back up anything you say or is it all your own unsupported claims? Because if it’s just your own unsupported claims nobody has any reason to take you seriously.

And consider that there are currently 5-100 million species on the planet now. There has probably been at least 1000 times that many that have already gone extinct.

I wouldn’t worry so much about the bees.

bigstinger, please take some time and just look around the SDMB, especially in the General Questions and Great Debates forums. You’ll find plenty of intelligent, well-read people who are very concerned about environmental degradation; you’ll also find a high standard for evidence and logic. I’ve learned a lot hanging around here.

Hey, folks, while I’m normally not too concerned about zombie-threads, please note that beestinger came on as a guest back at end of October, basically for one day. He/she ain’t around no more. So, comments at this point (however apt and cogent and all) are being addressed to empty air.

So, I’m gonna close this thread, without telling people to buzz off.
