Ok, I just started to take up modern freestyle dance and took online classes in Hip HOp and the regular “EDM” or “Top 40” stuff. I literally never listen to any of this music until recently, and it is for dancing only.
This may be a bit basic of a question, but it is not clear to me, are the moves of these dances interchangeable? It seems to me that hip hop is played less at the ‘clubs’ or parties than the white boy electronic stuff or Top 40.
So different dance moves for these
compared to these?
My experience in practice is that everything I do looks better with Hip Hop stuff, allowing the dance to express themselves better, regardless of tempo, but most of the venues seem to do hip hop only on special nights, and otherwise “Dance Club Play”.
