"Benefits" are part of my compensation.

Specifically medical insurance.
I got into a (friendly) conversation with a clerk at the Kaiser hospital I go to about who was the customer in my dealings with them. I said something about increasing co-pay, and she said something about “at least you don’t have to pay the premiums”. HAH!
I say that insurance is part of my compensation. No different than salary, really. Certainly it’s not generosity on the part of the company. If it were, the ceo and the board would be out on their ears.
She finally agreed with me.
Peace,
mangeorge

Certainly it’s compensation.

The first engineering company I worked for even made up a little tally sheet for each employee, listing all the compensation including insurance etc., to show the full effect of their employment.
