Bernie and Jane Sanders under investigation for bank fraud

Maybe there’s something else wildly popular they can run against.

No, I can’t say that I am.

Investigations should take their course, and Democrats should work on recruiting candidates at the local level. Democrats already elected to state and federal offices should keep their noses clean and their focus on taking back the Congress and the White House. That’s pretty much my view of it all.

Actually a day or so ago I saw a Texas media quoting a Texas university survey of the local fauna which stated 80% of Texas Republicans give Donald the highly coveted tribute ‘competent and 66% pronounce him Honest and Trustworthy’. So he’s pretty popular with those of whom Flann O’Brien might have called: The Plain Folk of Texas.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is being touted for President. Not even Senator or Governor, but straight on up to President.

You’re certainly in there pitching, but unless Texas secedes again (permitting Trump to be President of it), he’s really not doing all that well. Solid majorities of Americans believe Trump is not honest (57%), is not level-headed (63%), does not have good leadership skills (54%), and most ominously from your point of view:

Poll Results | Quinnipiac University Poll

That Quinnipiac poll does show a slight improvement for Trump from the previous poll—but, is based on data gathered June 22 through 27—which is before Trump started his latest ‘lady on TV is mean to me and looks ugly’ Twitter-snit. It will be interesting to see the next poll.

But back to Bernie and Jane: as of ten minutes ago, there is no word that charges have been filed. Also, Sanders’ claim that the allegations are politically motivated do seem to hold water:

Source of fraud allegation vs. Bernie Sanders' wife says info was hearsay - CBS News

ABC Exit poll in 2016 election showed that 65% of voters thought that Trump was dishonest. 63% didn’t think he was qualified for the office and 66% thought he didn’t have the “right personality and temperament for the job”. He won handily.

Based on your numbers, he’d win even more handily now

“Handily”? Well, OK, if you say so.

Who’s touting him?

By someone on the internet, no less!!

My point of view ? I detest Trump — but detest sentimental magical thinking more. Were I American it would be Bernie all the way.
But I wouldn’t lie for my beliefs.

You can get good solid information by hanging around a bar late at night. There are a million stories in the naked city.

Does he have a spouse in higher education?

Sounds like he has considerable political acumen
*On April 3, 2014, Garcetti was joined by former President Bill Clinton in hosting a half-day conference on alternate energy and improvements of infrastructure. It was the first time Garcetti and Clinton had appeared together since his run for mayor the previous year, in which Clinton had endorsed Wendy Greuel. The former president referenced the race but accidentally said that Garcetti had been elected president, not mayor. Clinton told Garcetti that he “may become president one day.” On May 7, 2014, Garcetti greeted President Barack Obama when he arrived in Los Angeles. On November 5, 2015, Garcetti’s office issued a statement endorsing Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, controversy emerging from the office using government resources to distribute a campaign-related proclamation. On January 20, 2016, amid polling showing Clinton’s competitor Bernie Sanders besting her in New Hampshire, Garcetti predicted she would ultimately prevail.

Is this a joke? If so I don’t get it because the mayor of a large city greeting visiting Presidents shows neither political acumen nor the lack of it. Ditto for endorsing the presumptive nominee of his party’s primaries.

But he predicted Clinton would win the Democratic primary. Nobody saw that coming!

Where did I say I was touting him? And see above for multiple references.

Apparently she’s a political activist and manages campaigns for Democratic candidates for office. She also uses her maiden name.

That touting is rather cautious and coming from basically only L.A. news sources. I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

Where did I say it was you? Surely you’re not the only person on the internet, are you?

Do you guys ever find yourself in a discussion like this and think, “Holy fuck, what am I even doing?” and back away from the keyboard?
