Berries and booze, pros and cons

I bartended for years and hated making blender drinks. Nowadays I do like to whip up something easy for myself to enjoy. Typically I thow a bunch of mixed frozen berries (straw, blue, rasp, etc.) in the blender with some canned coconut milk, a very little sugar and fresh lime juice with some rum. I’ve often wondered. How much nutrional value am I getting from consuming these berries, and if any of it is negated by the alcohol? Does the body’s work in processing the alcohol negate the antioxidants and stuff I’m pumping into it?

Also, what homemade blender drinks are you fond of and how do you make them?

They work on different things, so it’s really apples/oranges. You get all the plusses of the fruits against cancer and other Bad Things, but you also get the negatives of poisoning your liver and brain cells with alcohol. I believe that current medical dogma is that, barring other conditions, one or two ounces of alcohol a few times a week won’t hurt you much at all, and might just relax you enough to put off a stroke for awhile.
