Besides "Lovin' You"- pop songs where the sings hits a really high note?

No one mentioned Frankie Valli yet?

oo OO oo oo ooo oo oo OOOOOOOOOOOOO…

Also risky to play outdoors because all the dogs in the neighborhood start barking.

Another one - “Baron Samedi” by 10CC, where the last syllable in this couplet soars upward and merges into an ungodly electronic shriek:

Take a sip of dripping red
Make it with the living deaaadeaaaaaeaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAD

Roger goes even higher in '39. Ball-bustingly high.

Dennis DeYoung hit a high note on at least half the songs he sang for Styx, maybe just to show he can.

Speaking of Styx, I just picked up Larry Gowan’s “Strange Animal” CD, and went to YouTube to watch him perform “A Criminal Mind.” I was surprised to see that it was him doing the very high voice at the end on the line “just like these prison walls.” I always thought it was a woman singing that, but he’s one of those guys who can sing obscenely high.

Steelheart - "I’ll Never Let You Go " That dude just keeps going up and up and up…

Two other Dolly Parton songs that I remember having high notes is the plaintive Jolene and Love is Like a Butterfly.

Del Shannon on Runaway – I wah-wah-wah-wonder, why, why, why, why, why, she ran away. We used to hurt ourselves singing along with that.

At least two octaves on that song, right?

Of course there’s Licorice McKechnie (youtube), from my favorite band. She can summon bats.

Wouldn’t exactly call her “pop,” though.

Most of the songs sung by Chris Cornell.

Well, if those count, I’ll add the end of “When I’m With You” by Sherrif - I’m sure it was supposed to sound good, in theory.

Several songs by Prince come to mind.

aaron neville.

Guitarists Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing were talking about that a while back. They said, (paraphrasing from memory) “We kept pushing him, telling him to ‘go higher! go higher! higher!’. And you know, he always did.”

Guinness says the Brazilian singer Georgia Brown holds the record for highest note and largest vocal range. There’s a link to a video of her in the wiki article (not to her record note, though).

Darren Hayes, ex-Savage Garden singer, hits some pretty high notes in both SG and solo stuff.

The Star Spangled Banner
The Impossible Dream
Hard to sing for any one.

The Darkness has quite a Freddy Mercury-esque lead singer. I’ve only heard one of their songs and it contains the lyrics, “I Believe in a Thing Called Love.” This guy can hit some serious high notes!

Erasure’s Andy Bell hits a good one in “A Little Respect.”

“Lovin’ You” by Minnie Ripperton. She hastened the move to solid state stereos in the 70’s when her extremely high pitched “AAahhhaaaahhhaaAAaaAAh” shattered glass electronic tubes in older hi-fi’s.

Dude, have you read any of the posts in this thread? The very first one says, in bold type, “Besides “Lovin’ You”- pop songs where the sings hits a really high note?”
