Very weak year. I went with “The Battle of New Orleans.”
Bobby Darin’s Sinatra wannabe version of “Mack the Knife” is just plain bad, especially if you’ve heard Lotte Lenya’s, which is creepy and haunting.
It wasn’t until I heard her version and read the German lyrics that I realized the song is about a contract killer. :eek:
